Metalworks

Metalworks requires a minimum of Crude tools to perform.

With the Metalworks skill, a character may work lesser quality ingots into a higher quality ingots to be used by advanced skills. The time to perfect these ingots is the [Tier value x Tier value]. Upgrading an ingot to the next Tier value only requires the difference in days — ie: upgrading a T9 ingot to a T10 ingot with Basic tools only requires (50 days- 40.5 days) 9.5 days.

Basic tools will double output & a Workshop will quadruple output from baseline.

This skill may also be used to make general items, parts, wood stoves, frying pans, etc. that are made from metal. The quantity & Tier should be discussed with GM for such items. But the general rule is that for non-gear items, T1 or T2 ingots are good enough, & they will degrade by 1 Tier value per year of use unless maintained or repaired.

At T0 metal objects are considered broken & cannot be used. However, metal objects are not considered destroyed, & they can still be repaired to their full original Tier. Repairs are performed in 1/100th the time of creating the item.

This skill may also create “Basic Tools” for a variety of skills. These tools are T2, thus requiring Level 2 Metalworks to complete, & require T2 ingots x2 to create. They will double production for many skills that may use them.

Additionally, at Metalworks: 6+, a character may create a workshop. The workshop requires T6 ingots x20 & is considered a T6 product. The workshops take up loads of space & are stationary. However, they will quadruple the production of any skill that may use them.
