Mining

Mining Crude tools, or better, to perform. The main purpose of this skill is to gather metal ores & the creation of T1 ingots from those ores with any metal. These ingots may be later upgraded by other skills, such as Metalworks & Jewelry.

Each T1 ingot weighs approximately 2lbs after processing for common metals (such as those used for gear) & 1oz after processing for rare metals (such as those used for Jewelry).

10 Metal Ore = One Tier: 1 Ingot

The act of creating an ingot from mining requires no additional time when done with this skill. It is assumed that it is done as part of the Daily Task whenever the total ores exceed 10. It does, however, require the use of a fire (see- Skill – “Bushcraft”).

When collecting metal ores with this skill, the character will receive 1 ore, plus an additional ore for each level in the Mining skill. (see chart)

Gathering ores gains the benefit of Basic tools (2x production) & Workshop (4x production).

A mine becomes depleted after 1,000 ore are removed. Rich mining zones in the world will have scores of mines available in tight clusters.

If stone is being mined for building materials, multiply Mining Level by 2.

The multipliers for Basic tools(2x) or Workshop(4x) function normally with Quarrying. Each stone shaped roughly into a block shape & weighs 30-50lbs.

Stone Quarries, or Stone Mines, become depleted after 10,000 stones are removed. Rich Stone Quarry zones in the world will have scores of mines available in tight clusters.

Some Castles made with the Architect skill may deplete a stone mine completely in their construction. The scar left for future inhabitants.
